Ski Touring Bag
This pack is designed with ski-touring in mind, but I have been using it for hiking and everyday hauling as well. Apart from the obvious, the main features of this pack are the sturdy straps on the sides to carry your skis, as well as 2 small hooks to carry your helmet on the outside of the pack when skinning uphill. The left zipper on the front of the pack has access to the main compartment, meaning you can grab stuff all the way from the bottom. The right zipper opens up a vertical flat pocket for small bits and bobs. Another small zippered pocket on top of the pack is great for sunglasses and your wallet.

The fabrics I use are water resistant, but the process of sewing them together creates small holes every time the needle pierces the fabric. Therefore these bags are never fully waterproof. In any case I recommend using small drybags to keep your most important gear dry.
